Chinese Vase

Chinese Vase with a colour change

This model, the Chinese Vase, is a traditional one from China that was popularised in the US by Verdi Adams and is often known as "Verdi's Vase". In the original, one has to divide the square into sixths along each edge. Lots of people find it difficult to divide an edge into thirds and/or sixths. So, after a little thought, I realised that one can divide the square into eighths - much easier - and use the extra 2 eighths to make a nice colour change at the top of the vase.
